Terms and conditions

Brochure and accuracy

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the online listing, website and all advertising material is accurate at the time of publication, we cannot be held responsible for changes or matters outside our control. All information is given in good faith, but no warranties are made regarding the information provided, either written or oral.

Arrival and Departure

On the day of your arrival the house will be ready from 5.00 pm; this is to allow us enough time to clean the house and make it ready for new guests.

On the morning of your departure, we ask that you please vacate the house by 9.30 so we can prepare the house for the next guests.

Bed Linen and Towels

All bed linen and towels for the bathroom are provided for you and your beds will be made and ready for your arrival.

Please bring your own pool towels for use outside.

Alternatively, if you would like us to provide pool towels at an additional charge of 7.50 euro per towel, please request in advance of your arrival.

End of Stay Cleaning

Cleaning at the end of your stay is included in the cost of your holiday. We ask that you please leave the house clean and tidy with all rubbish removed.

Car Parking

There is plenty of car parking space available for guests’ use within the grounds. All parking is at owners’ risk.

Charging of Electric Vehicles (EVs)

The property does not have a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) charging point, nor does it have a power socket that is suitably rated, protected and certified as safe for charging an EV. It is not therefore permitted to charge EVs on the premises. There are however charging points available in the local area and at the local supermarkets. See Annex 1 for details.

Reservations, booking and payment

An initial payment of 15% is required to secure your booking. A further 15% is payable 120 days before your arrival and the balance (70%) being due 60 days before your arrival. The normal arrangements for payment are through Amenitiz Pay. If you are booking within 60 days before your arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking. If you wish to pay the balance by alternative methods rather than through Amentiz Pay, such as bank transfer, by card or cash, in GPB or euros, please contact us.

Use of the pool

Our lovely 10 x 5 metre pool is available to use during your stay at Logis de Tirac. It is not heated and is available from June until the end of August, beginning of September; sometimes earlier or later depending on the weather. We have a pool alarm to meet safety requirements, instructions are provided in the house details that are available when you arrive.

We request that our guests use the solar heated shower by the pool to remove suntan lotions before bathing and after sunbathing. This will prolong the quality of the pool water and protects all house towels and linen from the staining that sun lotion can cause.

We clean the pool daily during your stay and aim to do the cleaning between the hours of 8-10am. Unless otherwise arranged, we ask our guests not use the pool after 8.00pm when the pool will be covered. All drinks taken around the pool should be placed in the plastic glasses which are available.

Whilst we have not experienced any such circumstances, we reserve the right to close the pool or restrict the hours of swimming or use, for any period of time without being liable for reimbursement, in situations which we feel, at our discretion, to be necessary for the interests of health and safety or by order of the government or local law. We also cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience (or reimbursement) that may be the consequence of any unforeseen breakdown of pool mechanics (e.g. pumping or filtration) or equipment.

Woodburning hot tub

The woodburning hot tub is decommissioned in the summer and is not available during the times when the pool is open and available.

Neighbours and noise

Our property is adjacent to a working farm, during your stay you will hear farm noises such as cows and dogs barking. You will find the house and the terrace are private and face out to the countryside and are surrounded by vines, nevertheless, after 11pm we ask that our visitors keep noise to a minimum.

Pets

We do not generally accommodate pets. We ask that you please do not bring your pets with you unless this has been previously discussed.

Security Deposit

A €500.00 security deposit will be pre-authorised though Amenitiz Pay. This pre-authorisation is available up to one week after departure, to cover any additional deep cleaning, damage or breakage charges (please see Damage and Breakages). If booking through Airbnb or other online travel agents and isn’t taken at the time of booking, we reserve the right to request it from you or the 3rd party company should there be any damages upon inspection.

Damage and Breakages

We naturally ask that you please take care of the house and of everything in it. We do not normally charge for small breakages, (for example the odd plate or glass that gets broken) but we reserve the right to charge for repairs or making good if the damage is more or is significant. Please let us know of any breakages or damage as soon as they occur. Often, something that appears broken can be rectified or mended, which we are happy to try to do.

We ask our guests not to apply or use fake tan or hair dyes in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Any linens, towels and soft furnishings stained with fake tan may need to be charged for, particularly if professional cleaning is required to remove stains. Similarly, we ask that our guests please wash off sun cream before getting into the beds or sitting on furniture to avoid damage to linens and soft furnishings. We understand sun cream is necessary but have unfortunately found that a number of sun creams cause sheets to become stained and ask for your consideration of this.

Whilst it hasn’t yet happened, we reserve the right to supply an additional invoice for breakages above the deposit amount of €500.00. In this circumstance, receipts for the repair will be supplied to the guest and should be paid for within 5 working days.

We also reserve the right to charge for items missing from the house.

There will be a charge for any keys lost to be able to replace them and we ask that guests lock the house and close windows and leave it secure when they are out for the day or evening.

Lost property

We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. There may be a charge for postage and packaging depending on the size and weight of the forgotten item.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the Guest

We are a small business and cancellations can have a big impact on us, and therefore are unable to make any refunds for cancellations less than 60 days before your date of arrival. We do however, appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can happen, and whilst we try to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases, particularly if we are able to secure a replacement booking for the dates cancelled, we encourage our guests to consider travel insurance to cover this type of circumstance. Chapka Insurance is available if booking from the Logis de Tirac website.

A Cancellation by Us

Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full. Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

Some of the data gathered during the course of a booking may be held on computer. We would like to hold this data after your visit to be able to inform you of future offers. If you would prefer us not to hold this information, please let us know. 4

All non-French guests are required to complete a form called ‘Modele de Fiche Individuelle de Police’ providing the details of all adults and children staying in the house, which is retained according to the timeframe advised on the form.

Prices

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.

Taxe Sejour

Taxe Sejour, a local tourist tax, is payable, currently at the rate of 1.43 euro for each adult for each night. This is in addition to the cost for the house.

Smoking

Smoking or vaping is strictly NOT permitted within the house or any buildings. When outside we ask guests to be respectful, only putting cigarette butts and matches etc in ashtrays and being particularly mindful of fire hazards such as dry grass and wood. Please note that offending guests who smoke inside the house may be asked to leave immediately and will be liable for professional cleaning of any rooms. In such circumstances any outstanding account must be settled, no refunds will be made.

Force majeure

Logis de Tirac shall not be in breach of this Agreement if it does not provide the services under this Agreement, and it shall be entitled to cancel a booking if it is no longer able to provide the accommodation, due to one or more of the following circumstances:

Electric and Fuel costs

During this current period of uncertain fuel costs, we reserve the right to make an additional charge if the fuel or electric costs are significantly inflated during your stay due to unusually high usage. Normal be usage is between 24 – 32 KW per day, high usage is up to 40KW per day. We respectfully ask that you do not leave the lights or fans on unnecessarily. Particularly when you are away from the house or during the daytime.

Outside lighting

There is outside lighting for the terrace (outside of the kitchen), down the driveway and the back door area. These are very easy to forget and leave on during the night. We would be very grateful if you could be mindful of this and remember to turn them off when you go to bed.

For information, the drive and front of house uplighters are controlled by switches at the bottom of the stairs and are very easily confused with the landing and hall light. If outside lights are left on during your absence from the house, we may pop in and turn them off.

Please note, it is not permitted to charge EVs on the premises (please see the advice on Charging of Electric Vehicles (EVs) above) using the electricity from the house. Apart from the cost of any damage incurred to the electrical system, an additional charge will be made to cover the electricity. Please see Annex 1 for details of nearby charging points.

Please do not hesitate to speak to us if you would like us to do something differently, we will not mind at all. Please ask if there is something that would make your holiday more comfortable.
